Therapy can be a place to explore, understand and begin to heal old and new wounds that continue to impact or play out in current experiences and relationships.  Understanding and gaining insight into the history and roots of one's struggles is an important component of healing but usually not enough to promote the type of life changes that are desired.  In addition to insight, having the opportunity to feel and process the residual impact of previous experiences in the presence of someone who really sees you and accepts you where you're at, can be greatly reparative. This opens up space to make different, healthier and more adaptive decisions that will move you towards more joy and fulfillment in yourself and in your relationships.
